Popjugend is all about pop- and youthculture and the crossover between illustration and art. Popjugend mixes art and design and high and low art. Popjugend stands for designer toys but also designer sculptures, and everything that goes with the territory, such as limited edition t-shirts, fine-art and screenprints. The idea behind Popjugend label is to facilitate an environment where contemporary artists are invited to create visually inspiring art. The first achievement is our own ceramic object, designed by Luuk Bode. The skin (or texture) of this ceramic object will be designed by LouLou & Tummie and Darrin Umboh (more to be announced).

It’s for sale for € 1.250,00. Please contact us for more information.

Nelleke Boerkoel a.k.a. Transister studied at the Willem de Kooning Acadamy in Rotterdam. The art of Transister is very realistic with a raw edge. At first the images might appear sweet, but if you are willing to look further you’ll find Transister’s art is not as carefree as it might appear on first sight. Transister combines contemporary imagary with a large amount of glam and trash, a.o. inspired by pop and youth culture. For Popjugend Transister created these four portraits of dead icons.

- Gia Carangi (29-01-1960/18-11-1986, 40 x 50 cm, ink, pen & pencil on canvas, € 1.100,00.
- JonBenét Ramsey (06-08-1990/25-12-1996), 40 x 50 cm, ink, pen & pencil on canvas, € 1.100,00.
- Edie Sedgwick (20-04-1943/16-11-1971), 40 x 50 cm, ink, pen & pencil on canvas, € 1.100,00.
